Couple wins biggest jackpot in Michigan history
WXYZ-TV's Joe Mazan reports that "for a week, it has been the $208 million question, and on Friday, there was finally an answer. So who won the biggest jackpot in Michigan Lottery history?"
A couple from Port Huron is claiming the win. They’ll take the fortune, but apparently want no part of fame.
"Our winners won’t be here at the press conference," Lottery Commissioner Gary Peters announced Friday. "They preferred not to be at the press conference, however, we’re going to announce their name. I have a photograph from when they accepted the check officially here just a few moments ago."
In Florida, no tickets matched all six Florida Lotto numbers and the jackpot rolled over to an estimated $12 million, lottery officials said Thursday.
In Australia, news.com.au reports that "a lotto player who won $11 million in Thursday night's Powerball draw has yet to claim their prize. "
The Surfers Paradise newsagent who sold the winning ticket said it was probably bought by a tourist yet to realise their good fortune.
"They're probably at one of the theme parks with the winning ticket sitting in their back pocket," said John Romanin, of Pit Stop News and Supermarket.
